Overview

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary SEO Director to lead our search optimization strategy and team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SEO, a strong track record of organic growth for various clients, and up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in AI, AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). This role requires a strategic thinker with proven project and team management skills, as well as a strong business acumen to align SEO initiatives with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING ON ANY GIVEN DAY

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive SEO strategies to drive organic traffic, improve search rankings, and achieve business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing SEO team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, particularly in AI-driven search, AEO, and GEO, and integrate relevant advancements into the SEO roadmap.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with content, data, and marketing teams to ensure SEO best practices are embedded across all digital touchpoints.
  • Analyze and report on SEO performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Manage large-scale SEO projects from conception through execution, ensuring timely delivery and measurable impact.
  • Oversee technical SEO audits, keyword research, on-page and off-page optimization, and link-building initiatives.
  • Identify new growth opportunities through emerging technologies, search platforms, and user behaviors.
  • Advocate for SEO within the organization, educating teams on the importance of search visibility and its impact on business outcomes.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships, ensuring high-quality deliverables and alignment with internal goals.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • 8+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team management role.
  • Deep understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and technical SEO.
  • Demonstrated expertise in AI-driven SEO, AEO, and GEO trends, with a proven ability to translate these into actionable strategies.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to connect SEO initiatives to broader organizational objectives.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapting to evolving priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in international SEO and multi-language site optimization.
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau, Looker).
  • Background in content strategy, digital marketing, or web development.
  • Experience working with AI/ML tools and technologies relevant to search optimization.
