Overview

As a Media Planning Director/Associate Director within our agency, you will be at the forefront of navigating the new, AI-driven digital landscape for our clients. Your role is highly strategic, moving beyond simple execution to focus on defining and solving our clients' core business challenges. You will be primarily responsible for:

 

  • Strategic Client Partnership: Acting as the primary strategic partner (Strategic PM) and leader for key client relationships, guiding their business through complex digital transformations.
  • Proactive Problem Definition: Leveraging insights into AI and market shifts to proactively identify and define client business problems—often before they are articulated.
  • Strategic Communication Bridge: Translating complex technical concepts (from AI, Martech, and media platforms) into clear business language and strategic value for senior client stakeholders.
  • Integrated Strategy & Leadership: Leading internal collaboration with channel specialists (performance, data, etc.) to ensure a cohesive and impactful strategic approach.
  • Thought Leadership: Establishing our agency's reputation as an industry leader by developing and presenting forward-thinking strategies and insights.
  • Team & Portfolio Strategy: Overseeing the strategic direction of your team and the commercial health of the client portfolio, ensuring sustainable growth.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

As an Associate Digital Director or Digital Director in our agency, your daily responsibilities will encompass the following critical tasks:

  • Strategic Analysis & Problem Definition: Conduct in-depth analysis of the client's business, market, and AI-driven trends to define core strategic challenges and opportunities.
  • AI & Martech Solutioning: Actively research and propose innovative solutions using emerging AI tools and Martech stacks to address specific client pain points.
  • Integrated Strategy & Collaboration: Lead and orchestrate internal specialists (Performance, SEO, Content, Data) to build and execute cohesive, integrated digital strategies.
  • Client Leadership & Communication: Serve as the central point of strategic leadership for clients, leading key business reviews, performance reporting, and high-level consultations.
  • Proactive Strategy & Proposal Development: Proactively conceptualize, develop, and present new strategic proposals and initiatives that align with the client's long-term business goals.
  • Team & Resource Management: Set strategic priorities across the client portfolio, manage team resource allocation, and ensure operational excellence.
  • High-Level Troubleshooting: Act as the primary escalation point for significant client or team challenges, leading problem-solving efforts.
  • Portfolio & Growth Strategy: Strategically manage the overall client portfolio, identifying and driving long-term growth strategies and commercial opportunities.
  • Thought Leadership & Strategic Initiatives: Define and lead key strategic initiatives for the team and share industry-leading insights (via presentations, seminars, etc.).

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Strong Curiosity & Passion for AI: A deep and proactive interest in how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping the digital marketing landscape.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving & Ownership: A proven ability to identify the "real" underlying business challenges and take ownership of developing strategic solutions.
  • Exceptional Communication & Translation Skills: The ability to persuasively communicate complex technical ideas as simple, powerful business strategies to diverse audiences.
  • Proven Collaborative Leadership: Experience in guiding and unifying cross-functional teams (specialists, analysts, creatives) to achieve a common strategic goal.
  • Strategic Prioritization & Resource Management: The ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects, set clear priorities, and effectively manage team resources.
  • Executive Presence & Influence: Confidence and experience in leading strategic conversations and workshops with C-level stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Strategic PM, Account Executive (AE), or similar client-facing strategic role within a digital agency or in-house marketing team.
  • Exceptional client communication, proposal-writing, and presentation skills.
  • A background rooted in hands-on channel experience (e.g., Paid media planning , SEO and etc ) that has demonstrably evolved into a broader strategic role.
  • A strong understanding of and keen interest in digital media planning and Martech.
  • 8+ years of relevant agency experience
