WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Data Consultancy, Full time, based in Shanghai or Hong Kong
An accomplished Account Director who will take ownership of some of the key data consultancy client relationships we have in the Greater China region and is primarily responsible in leading the strategic growth and client relationship while overseeing the data projects delivery of these accounts.
Due to the complex nature of these key accounts, the ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate multi-tasking and time-management capabilities to manage client stakeholders and internal teams on global, regional and local levels.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING ON ANY GIVEN DAY
Revenue Growth
- Lead/ Support new business pitches when required
- Identify cross & upsell opportunities, build proposals, define scope and commercials to pitch initiatives
- Develop local and regional data offerings and services where fits
- Drive business development in GC, such as joining events, host client workshops
- Keep abreast of channel and product updates within the agency, ensuring these are communicated to the client where appropriate
Client Responsibilities
- Act as the client lead to provide strategic POVs and recommendations
- Be the first point of contact for most, if not all senior client stakeholders
- Translate client briefs (business objectives and goals) into data-driven strategy frameworks with actionable KPIs
- Maintain & strengthen client relationships at all levels
- Drive data services and products adoption on the client’s side
- Manage/Support technical data consultancy projects including advanced analytics, business intelligence, martech, data science, some project examples include:
- Advanced Analytics: Wechat MP tracking strategy, CAPI implementation
- Business Intelligence: Data visualisation & dashboarding,
- MarTech: 3rd party tracking tools like miaozhen, footfall tracking
- Data Science: Predictive Analysis, MMM
Team Management
- Responsible for personal and career development of direct reports
- Resource planning for account teams to ensure sufficient resources are allocated to support workload
- Support the team to ensure excellent and consistent delivery of data project delivery work in a timely manner
- Manage account teams effectively, ensuring regional processes are adopted locally
- Collaborate effectively with specialist teams (activation, insights, programmatic etc) and be the go-to-person when client context is required
- Support the adoption of the Data Consultancy knowledge across the company at regional level
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
- Minimum 6 years in digital media, preferably data roles, with at least 2 years in a people-management role
- Must be fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, both verbal and written
- Experience working in Mainland China with excellent understanding of main digital channels and data platforms/ecosystem, including search, display, social, mp, tracking etc
- Familiar with China tracking and analytics systems with hands on experience such as: youshu, pugongying, miaozhen, talkingdata, alimama etc
- Numerical and analytical with experience working with data specialists
- Demonstrable experience in translating client objectives into feasible, well thought-out data strategies, experience in working with developers and technical specialists
- Proven track record in gaining new business and managing complex accounts with multiple stakeholders while developing strong client relationships
- Understands GC market nuances to adapt and localise global and regional strategies
- Understanding of international/global platforms is a plus but not a must
